- Announce the Position – Let students know you have an employment opportunity available. You may communicate the postions by posting it with Career Services, sending an email, posting a flyer, etc.
- Interview the Student – When the student comes to the interview they must bring two things: A copy of their resume/ vita and a completed Student Employment Eligibility Form available online or from Financial Aid.
- Make a Decision – Decide who you are going to hire, complete and sign his/her Student Employment Eligibilty Form. Remember: If your budget does not allow for a part-time student worker, you can only hire someone eligible for Federal Work Study.
- Send the Student to Human Resources – Ask the student to take his/her resume/vita and eligiblity form to Human Resources. At this point you may also inform him/her to bring identifying information so that it does not slow down the process.
- New Hire Notification – Accounting will notify you and the student when the student is able to start working. You will receive a swipe card or user i.d and password within 24 to 48 hours of the notifying email. NOTE: It is ILLEGAL and in violation of TCS policy to have a student begin working prior to receiving notification from Accounting.
- FINISHED!
