The purpose of this page is to outline the standardized process for renewing faculty contracts.
All faculty members regardless of renewal status shall receive consistent and equitable treatment. The procedures outlined in this process ensure prompt notification of contract renewal or non-renewal and provides a timeline to assist all departments involved with planning and execution of contract renewal notification, execution, and finalization.
Procedure
The school will attempt to serve notices by the dates specified in this process but may depart from the schedule under extenuating circumstances; should such circumstances exist, the school shall notify any affected faculty member in writing of the reasons and of the revised schedule.
- January– Human Resources will send the department chairs an outline of the contract renewal process and a list of faculty contracts expiring over the next two years. The Personnel Action Form (PAF) - Faculty is attached to the email.
- March 15 – Deadline for supervisors to issue Intent to Renew or Notice of Non-Renewal letters to faculty with one-year contracts. (See Faculty Manual)
- May - Human Resources will redistribute the list of faculty contracts expiring over the next two years. The Faculty PAF is attached to the email.
- May 31 – Deadline for supervisor submission of all PAF - Faculty forms for contracts being renewed to Human Resources.
- June 30 – Deadline for Human Resources to draft all requested contracts. After drafting, Human Resources will then obtain all necessary supervisor signatures.
- July 1-August 15 - Contracts signed by faculty member.
- September 30 - Deadline for supervisors to issue Intent to Renew or Notice of Non-Renewal letters to faculty with multi-year contracts. (See Faculty Manual)
