Description of Organization:
Founded on August 30, 1946, the Japanese American Service Committee of Chicago originally served the needs of the Issei and Nisei (Japanese immigrants and their American-born children) who left World War II internment camps to resettle in Chicago and start new lives. As the needs of the community have changed over the years, so, too, have the programs and services provided by the JASC. The JASC is a 501©(3) not-for-profit social services agency.
Project Description:
- Assess feasibility of expanding and developing new services that meet the needs of geographically isolated Japanese American Elders in Chicago by conducting a focus group and a survey
- Participate in meetings with Community Advisory Board
- Develop the resource and marketing plans to effectively implement new services
- Identify and determine new methods and services, develop the pilot design, and plan for implementation of the pilot
Organization Requirements
- 6-month commitment
- Weekly meeting with Dr. Machizawa
